Summer STEM Camps for Middle School, High School Students Start in June

Camps are offered by Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence and partner institutions.

Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence (MNCEME) at Minnesota State University, Mankato will be holding a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camps this summer for middle school and high school students.

The summer camps begin in June and include the following camps held on the Minnesota State Mankato campus:

ZAP! Camp – 3D Printing – Grades 6-8 – June 15-17, 2016; $90
New technology of three-dimensional (3D) printing will be explored. Students will learn how to use 3D printers to create every-day items, parts, tools and more. The three-day class at Minnesota State Mankato will teach students how to download a digital design file and use a 3D printer to transform a design into a solid object.

Girls Explore STEAM – Grades 6-8 – June 20-24, 2016; $150
Campers will immerse themselves at Minnesota State Mankato in a variety of different STEM fields ranging from astronomy, chemistry and engineering to regenerative medicine and computer science, as well as the arts in addition to being exposed to positive and outgoing female role models.

ZAP! Camp – Civil Engineering – Grades 6-8 – July 12-14, 2016; $90
Students will be provided software and experience engineering by designing, building and breaking a bridge in addition to other fun hands-on activities in this three-day camp.
