Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office Announcement, 9-16-2016

Mankato, Minn. -- MavHouse Entertainment (an activities and practicum class taught by Tonya Butler, professor of music) in conjunction with local production facility Studio Six announced that music photographer Rob Shanahan will hold an on-campus student workshop and evening Q&A and neworking reception on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Shanahan, a Minnesota State Mankato alumnus, is Ringo Starr's personal photographer and one of the world's most-published photographers in the music industry today. His photos have appeared in numerous ad campaigns, on record and DVD covers, in books and magazines around the globe.

Both events are free and open to the public. The student workshop will be held from 12-1:30 p.m. in Armstrong Hall, Room 323. The evening event will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Studio Six, located at 509 S. Front Street, Mankato.

For more information, contact David Ostrom at or call the music office at 507-389-2119.

Shanahan's appearance is the inaugural event held through a new partnership between Minnesota State Mankato’s Music Industry Studies program and local entrepreneur Ryan Sturgis and his Studio Six production facility. The collaboration involves the student-run production of a series of entertainment events at Studio Six throughout the year.
