Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office News Release, 2-14-2017

Mankato, Minn. – Designer David Schwen is the next featured artist in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Art Enrichment and Andreas Endowment Residency and Lecture Series, and he will present an artist’s lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in Centennial Student Union’s Ostrander Auditorium.

Schwen’s lecture is free and open to the public.

Schwen will be artist-in-residence from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 20-21 in the Nelson Hall graphics labs on campus. He will work with students on creating innovative content for social media.

According to the bio he provided, after a decade working in advertising, Schwen decided it was time to set out on his own. Over the past five years, as the founder and creative director of Dschwen LLC (@dschwen), he has garnered new business by constantly creating and sharing passion projects. With a large social media following, Schwen receives immediate feedback on his work, while simultaneously demonstrating capabilities to potential clients.
