March 18: Stephanie R. Thorpe Recital of Vocal Music

MANKATO, Minn. -- In honor of Women’s History Month, soprano Stephanie R. Thorpe (pictured) will perform a recital of vocal music featuring poetry and music composed by women on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
The recital, "Charting Changes: Women, Words and Music," features several languages and a variety of genres of music. Selected artists and composers include: Sara Bareilles, Cécile Chaminade, Georgia Stitt, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Audrey Assad, and Minnesota-based Jocelyn Hagen.
Thorpe will be musically assisted by Vonnie Elker, piano; Johnathan Möeller, guitar; Logan Burns, bass; and Cayle Wendorf, drums. Stephanie R. Thorpe is a voice faculty member in the Department of Music at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Concert admission is $9 and $7 for students with a valid MavCARD. Discount tickets are available online for University students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged.
