MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Music will host a performance of the University Jazz Bands and Vocal Contemporary Groups Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for the Performing Arts.
Douglas Snapp, director of jazz studies, directs the jazz Mavericks. Graduate student Will Frame directs the University jazz lab band.

Recognized as one of the top groups of the evening, the team received critiques from three professionals in the field, who talked about its great blend, outstanding soloists and fine choice of repertoire that highlighted the many talented vocalists in the group. The group also received a private coaching session with Broadway/television star-singer Diana Preisler and festival producer/a cappella star Jonathan Minkoff.
