Nov. 14-17: 'Stupid F*cking Bird'
Play will be in Andreas Theatre.
Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre and Dance News Release, 11-8-2018
In the photo, Con (Braden Hanafee-Major) makes a strange request of Trigorin (Trevor Belt).
MANKATO – The actual title of this play by Aaron Posner? There’s no asterisk.
So you can probably deduce that “Stupid F*cking Bird” contains grown-up language and themes. A contemporary adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull,” the play is also really good.
An aspiring young director rampages against the art created by his mother’s generation. A nubile young actress wrestles with an aging Hollywood star for the affections of a renowned novelist. And everyone discovers just how disappointing love, art and growing up can be.
Directed by Trevor Belt, “Stupid F*cking Bird” runs 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14-17 in the Andreas Theatre, Performing Arts Center, Minnesota State Mankato.
Tickets are $10 regular; $9 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $8 for Minnesota State Mankato students.
The Box Office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, or buy single tickets online at MSUTheatre.com. Call the Box Office at 507-389-6661.
