|Program Description||The Bachelor of Arts is designed for students interested in pursuing the study of music within a broad liberal arts curriculum. The degree program emphasizes a full spectrum of music courses. Students may elect to pursue an area of emphasis in music.|

|Other Requirements||Entering music majors and minors are expected to have substantial musical experience performing with church or school ensembles, or as a soloist. Before admission to the major or minor, music literacy (the ability to read musical notation) must be demonstrated. Though Minnesota State Mankato does offer a course in basic music-reading skills, it is strongly advised that you begin those studies prior to arriving.|
