Student-friendly city

Mankato, a progressive and student-friendly community, consistently ranks as one of the most livable communities in the country. #3 in the nation on Forbes 1014 “Best Small Places for Business & Careers” and as one of the top 100 communities for young people by America’s Promise four consecutive times.

The community, like the campus, is large enough to offer all the opportunities and advantages you would expect from a larger city—top-notch recreational opportunities, sporting events, shopping, festivals, restaurants, diverse cultural attractions and a vibrant nightlife—but in a convenient, accessible and easy-to-navigate setting.

State-of-the-art Facilities

A beautiful campus that feels like home

A college campus is more than just a collection of buildings. It's a community. It's the place where you'll make lifelong connections. The place that will become your home away from home.

Modern residence halls

Not only is our campus home to some of the best educational facilities in the Upper Midwest, but in the last five years, we've remodeled our residential halls and even built two brand new halls. Where you live is important, and Minnesota State Mankato wants your home to be the best.

New and renovated buildings

Watch for a brand new, state-of-the-art design Clinical Sciences building to open in the Fall. Minnesota State Mankato is proud that many of our renovations to our athletic, performance, academic and recreational facilities are privately funded, which keeps tuition affordable and makes the University a great value.

See for yourself

Minnesota State Mankato invites you to see for yourself. Contact the Admissions Office and we'll arrange your campus visit. It's easy to set up and will give you a chance to meet other students, check out classes or clubs, talk with a coach, pick the brains of our faculty and get a first-hand look at your future.
