A transcript is a chronological listing of all Minnesota State University, Mankato coursework taken by a student.

Also included on a transcript are:

  • Degrees earned from Minnesota State University, Mankato and other institutions
  • Transfer credit amounts
  • Cumulative credit totals and grade point averages

There are two types of transcripts:

  • Unofficial - generally used on campus by students and advisors
  • Official - stamped with the University seal (generally used to send to places outside the University)

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS are free and available through your eServices account 24 hours a day!

Log in to eServices:

        Select Grades and Transcripts to view/print your unofficial transcript.

Unofficial transcripts can also be picked up by the student at the Campus Hub with proper identification. Refer to the Campus Hub's information page on unofficial transcripts for more detailed information.





Colleges/Universities within the MinnState system utilize eTranscript to pull your transcript free of charge.  Please contact the transfer institution directly for further information.  You do not need to complete a transcript request.

NOTE:  If you attended MSU, Mankato before 1975, a paper transcript must be sent.  Please complete the Official Transcript Request process.

NOTE: if you need an official transcript sent to any MinnState institution for purposes of employment, a paper copy must be sent. In this case, clearly note this on the order form and we will send the document via U.S. mail. If you are applying for employment at Minnesota State University, Mankato, a paper official transcript is also required.




Current and former students with a STAR ID and password and whose Social Security Number (SSN) is on file with MSU, Mankato should request transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse Student Self Service website


Former students who do NOT have a STAR ID and password or whose SSN is NOT on file with MSU, Mankato should use this link to request transcripts:   National Student Clearinghouse website.

Official transcript costs are as follows:

Electronic Transcript Exchange with another college/university:  $7.25.

Electronic PDF Delivery: $9.00

Electronic PDF delivery allows your transcript to be emailed via secure link to any person you authorize.

 By Mail:  $7.25.

NOTE:  Former students wishing to pay by credit card must do so through the National Student Clearinghouse or directly in the Cashier's Office until 3:30 daily.

Official transcripts can be picked up by the student with proper identification or mailed to an address specified by the student.
