During the academic year, the Program Advisor and Summer Operations Coordinator serves as the professional advisor to both the Residence Hall Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary chapter at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Program Advisor works with members of the Residential Education Team (Hall Directors, Area Directors, and others) to enhance the experience of student leaders on campus. The Program Advisor is present during General Assembly and Chapter meetings and takes part in various evening/weekend events during the academic year. The Program Advisor also coordinates and accompanies delegations to state, regional, and national leadership conferences (MACURH, NACURH, and the Regional Business Conference).
The Program Advisor also helps student leaders implement a variety of events such as:

Leadership 101 is the department's five week non-credit leadership seminar for residence hall students exploring topics such as individual leadership styles, current leadership theory, leadership opportunities, and group dynamics. The goal is for this experience to be interactive and experiential, not lecture. The seminar will meet for 75-90 minutes each week and will be limited to 20 participants per section. This team will facilitate two sessions of this seminar in the fall semester and implement one session (Leadership 102) spring semester. Many students who participate go on to apply for executive positions within RHA/NRHH or go on to become Community Advisors.
