RHA's first annual Turkey Fun Run/Walk will be on November 17.  The event will be located at the fitness trail behind Gage towers.  Tons of prizes, will be given to both teams and individuals for best costume, fastest time, and many more!

The individual registration fee is a canned food item.  The registration fee for a group to sign up is the donation of a frozen turkey.  All food will be donated to the ECHO food shelf here in Mankato.  For more information and to register go to mankatorha.org.

The first fifty people to register will receive a RHA Turkey Run t-shirt!

 

Spring CA Openings - Apply Now! 

Have you lived on campus for two full semesters by the conclusion of this semester? Are you looking to gain more leadership experience? Would you like to help current residents have a great spring semester? Consider applying to be a CA for Spring Semester 2013!

Spring Community Advisor Applications are available online through November 12.

Do you have questions about being a CA? If so, ask your Community Advisor and your Hall Director. If you have questions about the selection process to be a CA for Spring 2013, e-mail Jamie Van Boxel.

 

iPad and Pizza Party Winners!

Congratulations to  Shawanda Holliday, winner of the iPad from the Department of Residential Life!

And congratulations also to the floors that won $100 pizza parties from the Department of Residential Life for having the highest completion rate of both the EBI survey and the CA feedback form.  The winning floors are: Stadium Heights 761, McElroy F4, Preska K2, Julia Sears North Purple 4 and Crawford B2.

 

Apartment Tours: Stadium Heights

Interested in apartment living for next year? You can check out a Stadium Heights apartment at the open house next week on Wednesday, November 14 from
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or Thursday, November 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Or, you can call the Stadium Heights Residence Community office at 507-388-5162 to set up an individual tour. Beginning Monday, November 12, current residents in any community may reserve a room in Stadium Heights for the 2013-2014 academic year during Room Selection!

Sign Up to Live on Campus Next Year

Current residents have the opportunity to live on campus in 2013-2014. As a returning student, you may hand-pick your room for next year during Room Selection! 

Same Hall Sign-Up
Choose a room in the same hall/building you live in now between Monday, November 5 and
Saturday, November 10.

Any Room Sign-Up
Choose any available room or apartment in any residence community between Monday, November 12 and Sunday, March 31.

1. Choose your room online.
2. Make your $250 prepayment when you sign up.
3. Sign your housing contract.
4. Hold the space in your room for another current student who has not yet signed up. 

Hurry, Quantities are Limited!   Don't miss your chance to live on campus next year!
A limited number of each room type is available, and a maximum of 550 students may apply to return to on-campus housing.  Once this limit has been reached students may place their names on a returning students waiting list.  Read more on these links:

2013-2014 Room and Board Rates Consultation: Residential Life Improvement Ideas Requested!

RHA's General Assembly is currently in the process of working with Residential Life to propose rates for the 2013-2014 academic year.  This includes new ideas that students have to increase the quality of living on campus.  Services that have resulted from this process in the past include the addition of computer stations in each area, water bottle filling stations in community lobbies, additional dining hall hours, and more. 

If you have any ideas that you believe will better the residence communities, bring them to your floor RHA Representative.  They will make sure your voice is heard in General Assembly on Monday's at 4:00 P.M. 

 

Thanksgiving Break Housing

Sign up at the front desk of your residence community BEFORE November 16 to stay in your room over Thanksgiving Break. There is no charge to stay on campus during Thanksgiving Break!

 

 

NRHH Presents: Leadership Week

You will learn about leadership, scholarship, service and recognition opportunities.

When: November 13-15 at 8:00 p.m.

What: Speakers, Recognition Workshop, and Leadership Training

 

Graduating or Leaving Campus?

If you plan to leave the University for any reason, including graduation, you must complete and turn in a Contract Release Request form to the Residential Life office no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 26.  After this day, approved Contract Release requests are subject to an additional $20 administrative charge.  You can read more about contract releases and the situations under which releases are granted online at www.mnsu.edu/reslife.

 

Have a Final or Are Graduating on Saturday?

If you are participating in graduation events or have a Saturday final, please contact your Area Director by Tuesday, December 11 to stay in your room until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15.

 

Changing Rooms for Spring Semester

If you would like to move to a different room for spring semester, submit your request to the front desk of your community by noon Friday, December 7.  If you are changing rooms for spring semester, you must move to your spring room before Winter Break begins.  Room change opportunities resume Monday, January 28. 

 

Start Thinking About Winter Break

All current residents who will also live on campus spring semester may stay during the Winter Break.   The communities close for Winter Break at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 7.  The communities reopen for returning students at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 11.

 Registration for Winter Break begins Monday, November 12 in the Residential Life office.  See more details online.

 

Only Three Weeks Left to Convert Meals to Flex Dollars

Students with the Maverick 160 meal plan may convert any of the 160 meals a semester into Flex Dollars at a rate of $5.10 per meal, twice a semester by November 30 for fall semester.  Stop by the Residential Life office at 111 Carkoski Commons or Convert Meals to Flex Dollars online.
