The cast rehearses "Seasons of Love" from Rent, presented September-October 2011. Our 1988 alum Rick Anderson worked in the box office for the original Broadway production of Rent, serving as the gatekeeper for each night's limited number of house seats.

Clayton Rutschow

Spring 2011 graduate Clayton Rutschow talks about his career at Minnesota State University, Mankato, which in his senior year included a Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship nomination—and eventual First Alternate finish at the regional festival—for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the title role in The Odyssey, which went all the way to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and starring as Max Bialystock in The Producers.

Evil Dead: The Musical, Dec. 1-4, 2010: Aaron Alan, who plays Ash, and Jake McInerney (Scott) talk with Herb Kroon on KMSU radio's "Best of Broadway," which will air Sunday, Nov. 21.

Zombie

Students had a little fun playing zombies rocking out to "Thriller" in the Centennial Student Union (with short behind-the-scenes preparation video).

First-year students Callie Syverson and Jake McInerney (that's Callie seen above as a zombie) recount their first couple of weeks in the Department. Then they return at the beginning of their second semester.

The Odyssey, Nov. 11-21, 2010: Clayton Rutschow, Kim Steffen and Megan Volkman-Wilson (Odysseus, Athena and Penelope, respectively) talk about the show, as does director, Paul J. Hustoles. Then, a few months later, Dr. Hustoles returns to talk about the honor of being chosen to perform The Odyssey at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
