Once an organization has initially been established, Minnesota State University, Mankato has an annual recognition renewal process for student organizations.

The fall recognition period is the signature recognition time. Fall Recognition for the 2022 - 2023 year will start August 22, 2022 and end at 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2022.

The spring recognition period is for those organizations who missed the fall process. Spring Recognition for the 2022-2023 year will begin January 09, 2023 and end at 11:59 p.m. January 30, 2023.

HOW TO RE-RECOGNIZE AN ORGANIATION

In order to renew an organization's recognition status, organizations must complete the following steps during the recognition period:

  1. Submit your organization's "Transition" in Involve U. To submit your transition, the President of the organization will need to sign into Involve U and navigate to the "organizations" tab, find their organization on the list, then select the three dots on the right and click on "Transitions" (Note: only the primary contact of the organization will see the "re-register this organization" button).

    The request for recognition includes the following:
    • Update Organization Profile
    • Update Roster (requires at least 5 current MSU, Mankato Students)
      • The following officer positions must be filled: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary
    • Update Constitution (check out our editable constitution template here)
  2. President and Vice-President must complete a short, 1-hour in-person training focused on RSO management:
    • These courses will be assigned based on updated rosters and must be completed by September 30, 2022 at 11:59 PM.

How do I create an Account on Involve U?

  1. Go to Presence website - Student Portal | Presence
  2. Go to the profile icon on the top right and click on log in. 
  3. Click on create account.
  4. Enter your MNSU email and they will send you a password.
  5. Go back to presence and log in with your MNSU email and password.

How can i get admin access?

  1. Go to Presence website - Student Portal | Presence
  2. Go to the profile icon on the top right and click on login - enter your MNSU email and password to log in. 
  3. Go to the profile icon on the top right again once logged in and click on it.
  4. You should be able to see "admin dashboard" from the drop down menu. If you don't see "admin dashboard," email rso-office@mnsu.edu to give you admin access and try again.

How do i access the transition form?

  1. Go to Presence website - Student Portal | Presence
  2. Go to the profile icon on the top right and click on log in - enter your MNSU email and password to log in. 
  3. Go to the profile icon on the top right again once logged in and click on it.
  4. You should be able to see "admin dashboard" from the drop down menu. If you don't see "admin dashboard," email rso-office@mnsu.edu to give you admin access and try again.
  5. Once you are logged in to the admin side on Involve U, navigate to the left navigation menu and click on organizations. 
  6. You should see a list of the organizations you are involved in. If you are involved in only one organization, you will only be able to see that organzation. 
  7. Navigate to the right side of your organzation name and click on the three stacked dots.
  8. You should be able to see an option, "Transition." Click on it and it will take you to the transition form.
  9. Second option to access transition form - You all should have recieved an email telling you to transition if you were on the roster list for your organization. The email had a button that you could click on that said, "Transition." If you click on that, that would have taken you right to the transition form.

How do i create an organization?

  1. Make sure you are logged into Involve U first - Below are the steps to create an account on Involve U if you already don't have one:
    1. Go to Presence website - Student Portal | Presence
    2. Go to the profile icon on the top right and click on log in. 
    3. Click on create account.
    4. Enter your MNSU email and they will send you a password.
    5. Go back to presence and log in with your MNSU email and password.
  2. Once logged in, go to the forms tab on top and click on it.
  3. Scroll down and choose the form that says, "Organization Registration" to create an organization. Our team will notify you once your organization has been approved.

My advisor gets an expired link when trying to approve my transition form? How do i fix that?

  1. Have your advisor log into Involve U. If they don't already have an Involve U account, they need to create one following steps.
    1. Go to Presence website - Student Portal | Presence
    2. Go to the profile icon on the top right and click on log in. 
    3. Click on create account.
    4. Enter your MNSU email and they will send you a password.
    5. Go back to presence and log in with your MNSU email and password.
  2. Once logged in, they need to go to the profile icon on the top and click on it.
  3. Then, they should select "admin dashboard". If they don't already have admin access, have them email rso-office@mnsu.edu.
  4. Once logged in to the admin side, they should navigate to the left navigation menu and select forms.
  5. They should be able to see an option on top that says, "Responses" - Have them click on that.
  6. Then, they can click on"inbox" to see all the forms that they have to approve including the transition form.
