Bias Incident Support and Advisory (BISA) Team
Meet the Team TEAM PROTOCOL campus resources report an Incident FAQs
Minnesota State University, Mankato aspires to create an environment that is inclusive and safe for all members of the community. Bias incidents undermine our campus’ efforts toward equity and inclusion. They limit our community’s ability to excel in our teaching and learning, and our service to our communities and state. They also impede free and open discourse and our ability to know and learn from one another. Biases and hateful expressions cause harm and fracture our communities.
The university stands firm in providing a place of hope and opportunity where all students – no matter who they are or where they consider home – can feel welcome and safe to learn free from bias incidents and hate crimes. To achieve this goal, Minnesota State University Mankato has charged a body of campus community members - known as the Bias Incident Support and Advisory (BISA) Team - to proactively work towards educating the campus on bias, collaborate with various departments to host prevention programs, and work with university officials to investigate and address reports of bias incidents and hate crimes.
