Mental Health

Feelings of anxiety, anger, depression, low self-esteem, and stress are a normal part of being human and can affect anyone.  Sometimes these feelings are temporary and can be eased by rest, relaxation, exercise, good nutrition, and support from others.  At other times, feelings of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns cannot be easily managed and become overwhelming.  When this happens and you find it hard to function, you may want to seek help from professionals.

Minnesota State Mankato Student Health Services medical providers perform comprehensive mental health evaluations and manage mental health conditions.  Our staff of doctors, family nurse practitioners, and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner can prescribe medications when indicated.  We also refer students for counseling to the Counseling Center on campus in addition to other area mental health resources.
