Why did you choose to go into college health?

I love working with college students! It’s such an important time in life for people to take charge of their own health and learn about and establish healthy lifestyles.

What type of visits do you enjoy the best?

I like all visits- getting to know someone, hearing about what’s going on with them, and seeing if I can be helpful.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Relationships with students. it feels like a privilege to have someone’s story and their concerns and problems and be a part of their process toward health and well-being. I also love that students are so interested in learning about their conditions and health.

What’s unique about the care that patients receive at Student Health Services?

We provide so much education along with health care. We also are able to spend more time with patients, take time, and really listen to their concerns.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spend time in nature- trail running, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding. I also like reading, yoga, and knitting, and I am a collegiate soccer fan and love time with my family.
