University Security advances the mission of Minnesota State University, Mankato by maintaining a safe and secure living, learning and working environment in partnership with the community we serve.
University Security achieved its first accreditation award with the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) in June 2022. IACLEA Accreditation signifies an agency's ongoing commitment to overall excellence, best practices, and professionalism. We are currently the only law enforcement, security, or public safety agency in Minnesota to be awarded accreditation by IACLEA.

University Security offers many services to our campus community. Services include: 24/7 patrol and dispatch, campus lost and found, area access control, safe walks, vehicle jump-starts and unlocks, and a safe and anonymous drug drop box.

Emergency Preparedness information has been developed to provide students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors with information concerning disasters or emergencies that may impact the University.
A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is someone who has been recognized by the Clery Act as a federally mandated reporter of any Clery Act crimes occurring on campus and campus owned or controlled property.
