Graduation or Completion of Exchange Program

At the end of your academic program, you have a 30-day grace period. During this period you may choose to do one the following:

• Depart the U.S. Once you leave the U.S. (including trips to Canada and Mexico) after completing your studies you are not eligible to reenter the U.S. with your current DS-2019. This grace period is meant for travel within the states and preparation to depart the U.S.
• Request a new DS-2019 if you will continue at Minnesota State Mankato in a new degree program.
• Transfer your SEVIS record to a new school

If you do not complete your educational objective, you are not eligible for the 30-day grace period. Please contact your Immigration Advisor for more information.
