Fitness Assessment

Fees include 2 fitness assessments - one before the start of your fitness program and one after you have completed a fitness program (approximately 12 weeks after the first assessment)

Benefits of a Fitness Assessment:
  • Providing you with baseline information needed to start a fitness program.
  • Utilizing the information later to chart your progress during your fitness program.
  • Increasing the likelihood of continuation of a fitness program.
Components of a Fitness Assessment:
  • Body composition - administered by skin fold assessments
  • Cardio respiratory fitness - administered with treadmill walking, running or bicycle tests
  • Muscular strength assessment - administered with a push-up, crunch, and/or bench press test
  • Flexibility assessment - administered with a sit and reach test

Note - all tests are administered by trained and professional technicians.

Equipment Orientation:

An optional, one time orientation with a personal trainer will be available to show each individual how to operate and use the cardio and weight machines.

Customized Exercise Plan:

A 12 week plan customized to meet your specific needs, goals and time constraints. This plan may consist of aerobic exercise, weight lifting and resistance exercise, flexibility exercise and stress reduction methods. A fitness assessment is required before starting a customized exercise plan or personal training session. Faculty and staff must be members of our fitness center ($50 a semester) to be able to use personal training services. To participate in a fitness assessment, please fill out the attached form and pay the appropriate fee to the cashier in the Wigley Administration Building-WA128. Bring back the bottom half receipted by the cashier to your fitness assessment. No services will be rendered without payment.
