I am a board recognized fluency specialist and also a provider of SpeechEasy. I am thrilled that you have developed this software. This is a great way to have people try it without the cost of an evaluation and the cost of the SpeechEasy device. Then if they feel it works well for them, they can always purchase the device. I find that SpeechEasy helps some people a lot, some a little and some not at all. An evaluation of the device does not always provide the evidence to determine if it will truly work or not, because it is done in the confines of a room. They are given the opportunity to take it out of the office, but that doesn't necessarily work because so many stutters are very reticent to talk and they need practice at feeling comfortable. Your software may help them with this. I beleive the SpeechEasy works for some because of the effect of choral talking. I have also seen it work for at least one individual because it built his self confidence. I have found that it works the least for those who have tense and silent pauses. Starting with an "ah" turns the voice on for them and then they therefore hear themselves and it sometimes help them get started easier. Using the "ah" does not always work and they do seem to need to work on this in therapy to make it effective. Hope this is helpful.
