I'm a graduate student studying Speech-Language Pathology at NYU and was interested in getting your opinion on bilingualism as a risk for stuttering. I had a multilingual friend whose son was exposed to two languages in the home and began stuttering at age 7. Their SLP suggested to only speak to the child in one language and the boy's stuttering disappeared. Being bilingual speech pathologists, have you had any similar clinical experience relating bilingualism with stuttering?
