Hi Cathy . . . . Thank you for sharing this very emotional, poignant story of your stuttering journey. How important it is for people to understand that what lies beneath for a covert stutterer is often more significant than the actual stuttering . . . . . I commend you for being so brave and honest with the telling of this story. . . . . So much of what you say and feel has been my experience as well, except I no longer go to the great extent that you do to hide the stuttering. . . . . I was proud to read this and learn a little more about your journey and why covert means what it does for you. . . . . You have done an outstanding job explaining why coverts so often feel lost, and that people who work with coverts need to make a real effort to understand this . . . . This is one of the most important papers I have read on covert stuttering. Thanks for sharing. Do you think with continued sharing and openess that you might reach a point where you will stutter openly and talk about it?
