Thank you for sharing your insight on stuttering! I am not a person who stutters, but I also think the affect and cognitive aspects of stuttering need to be focused on in therapy rather than simply reducing stuttering behaviors. I have a family member (in his teens) who refused to participate in therapy because he believed his speech therapist didn't understand what he was going through. My question for you is, how can SLPs who don't stutter establish rapport and build strong clinical relationships with adolescents who stutter?
