Hi, Tony, You could say, "No, I just don't feel like being Tony today." Chances are that you would get through your name quite smoothly, at least at first. Seriously, there are several possible kinds of response. One is to be a smart aleck, as above. Another is to ignore them. You could also just say that you often stutter on your name. Or you could look at them with long eyes and say something like, "What's it to ya, bud?" The silly question is really a device for the listener to put himself at ease in an unexpected situation. The most graceful response is really to put him at ease yourself as quickly as you can, and then treat the stuttering as if it's no big deal. As long as people react to stuttering with stereotypical values, you will have to figure out each encounter and maintain your dignity as well as you can.
