thanks for your article, I agree with the point you make about children advocating for themselves. As a parent I want to jump in and speak on my daughters behalf and protect her but I have come to the conclusion, as you have, that the best way I can protect her is to equip her with the skills to advocate for herself because I can't be there to shield her from others all the time. In my view this is a hugely important thing parents can do for their stuttering kids( and all their kids), is to give them the tools to be independent of us parents. Veronica
