What is Educational Talent Search?

Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a nonprofit, federally funded program designed to encourage students to complete high school and assist them in entering and completing a post secondary educational program. Educational Talent Search serves as a FREE planning and resource center for students who are interested in continuing their education. ETS assists students in determining an appropriate school or program of study as well as how to apply for and maximize financial aid.

Educational Talent Search is a member of the TRiO family of programs.  TRiO is a nationwide, federally-funded organization committed to providing educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstance.  TRiO programs are designed to help low-income and first-generation Americans enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social life.

What services are provided?Advisor Helping a Student

ETS provides services to help students and their families identify career goals, apply to colleges, complete financial aid paperwork, and learn skills needed to be successful beyond high school. A wide range of support is available, and is determined with the assistance of an Education Advisor.

For more information, check out the Services page.

Who is eligible for services?

ETS serves students from families in which neither parent has completed a four-year degree (first generation potential college students) and/or families living on limited incomes, meeting all of the federal eligibility guidelines. Two-thirds of all participants must meet both criteria.

When can a student enroll?

It's never too early to begin making plans for education beyond high school. Our advisors use grade level materials that are designed to assist students through all stages of post secondary planning.
