National Eating Disorder Awareness Week will be observed with a guest speaker, a prize drawing and information booths at Minnesota State Mankato Feb. 26 through March 4.

The nationally observed week is the nation's largest eating disorders outreach effort. It is intended to raise awareness and increase prevention, as well as to educate the public on eating disorder illnesses.

Highlight of the week will be a talk by licensed clinical social worker Kathy Kater, who will discuss "Building a Healthy Body Image in a Body-Toxic World." Her presentation will be Wednesday, March 1, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the CSU Ballroom. Kater is a widely recognized national expert on the promotion of healthy body image, eating, nutrition, fitness and weight.
