Community Advisors (CAs) are student employees trained to assist students in their transition and ongoing success to residence hall/apartment living and college life. CAs are responsible for tasks which include social and educational programming, peer support, and maintaining an environment conducive to academic and personal success.

We are not accepting Community Advisor applications at this time.

In order to apply, please submit your application through our online application form.  Make sure that you complete the application in its entirety.  We suggest that you set adequate time aside to complete the application in one sitting.


As part of the application process, two individuals need to submit a reference form on your behalf.  The reference form is available online and can be saved to your computer so that you can send it to your references.  It is your responsibility to provide the reference form link to each of your references.  Reference forms need to completed no later than Wednesday, January 27, 2016. The best way to ensure that your references are submitted on time is by asking your references early.

Information Session and Candidate Social

This optional event is a great opportunity to learn more about the Community Advisor position! If you are considering the position, even if you have not yet decided whether to apply, this event is for you.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of CAs from each of the five residence communities (Crawford, Julia Sears, McElroy, Preska, and Stadium Heights).  You will also have an opportunity to interact with many of the Hall Directors and Area Directors who will be making the the hiring decisions.  Snacks and beverages will be served!


Candidates who meet eligibility criteria for the position could be invited to participate in two workshops.  Workshops take place over a two-week period and are a mandatory component of the CA Selection process.  Each workshop is a two hour commitment.  Workshops are used to evaluate each candidate through a series of group and individual activities.


Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the position could be invited to interview for the position. Eligible candidates will receive their interview date and time via email.  We encourage candidates to dress professionally (business casual attire is suggested).
