Thanksgiving Break

Residence communities close at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22 for Thanksgiving Break. Communities reopen at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, November 26.

Need to Stay Over Break?

During Thanksgiving Break, residents may stay in their rooms if they register. There is no additional fee to stay for Thanksgiving Break. Registration opens on Monday, November 6.

How to Register

Complete the Break Housing Form in the Housing & Dining Portal by Friday, November 17.

Limited Services

There is no meal service provided during break.
Front Desk hours are limited. Desks are open 8-10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, closed on Thanksgiving Day, and open 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 24-25.
There is no mail/package service Wednesday, November 22-Sunday, November 26.
Lobby doors unlock at 10 a.m. and lock at 6 p.m. Doors near Student Health Services unlock at 7:45 a.m. and lock at 6 p.m.

Leaving for Thanksgiving Break

The residence communities close at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Close & lock your window.	Remove trash from room.	Return to-go containers.	Close your blinds.
Unplug electronics except for refrigerator.	Turn off all lights.	Close your room door.	Take your car home.

Daily Service Notifications

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20:

Julia Sears residents may load their vehicle along the approved curb with their hazards on. Vehicle must return to permitted lot after loading.
Crawford and McElroy residents may load their vehicle in Flowbird Guest stalls (Lot 15 by McElroy and Lot 14a by Crawford). Hazards must be on while loading. Vehicle must return to permitted lot after loading.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21:

Julia Sears residents may load their vehicle along the approved curb with their hazards on. Vehicle must return to permitted lot after loading.
Crawford and McElroy residents may load their vehicle in Flowbird Guest stalls (Lot 15 by McElroy and Lot 14a by Crawford). Hazards must be on while loading. Vehicle must return to permitted lot after loading.
University Dining Center closes at 6 p.m.
Campus recreation facilities close at 6 p.m. and reopen on Monday, November 27.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22:

Front Desks open 8-10 a.m.
At 6 a.m. enforcement of Dark Green and Light Green will stop to allow easier access for loading. Curbside loading and Flowbird Guest stalls (Lots 15 and 14a) are allowed on this day. Gold stalls, Flowbird timed stalls (non-guest stalls), and accessibility stalls are enforced until 6:30 p.m.
Starbuck's open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Union Grill open 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Thanksgiving room safety checks take place beginning at 9 a.m. During this time, Residential Life staff will enter all rooms to perform safety checks.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24 and FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25:

Parking enforcement stops except for overnight parking. If students are staying on campus, they must park in Lots 1, 2, 20a South Dark Green, 14, or 16. All other areas are subject to ticketing.

Returning to Campus

All residence communities open at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, November 26.

Front Desks reopen at noon on Sunday, November 26.
The University Dining Center will open at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 26. Chet's Place and the 1872 Grill will reopen at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 26.
Students should return to their permitted parking lot by 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 26 or they may be subject to ticketing.
Unloading from Thanksgiving Break will be allowed all day on Monday, November 27 on the approved curb in front of Julia Sears, Crawford approved curb, and Lot 15 Flowbird GUEST stalls. Hazards must be turned on and 15-minute time limit will be in effect. Vehicles must return to their permitted lot after unloading. All other areas will have normal parking enforcement.
