As the demand for concurrent enrollment grows, the need for qualified instructors accelerates. New Higher Learning Commision (HLC) standards requires Masters level education to teach concurrent enrollment courses. High school instructors are now required to have earned 18+ discipline specific graduate credits.
Minnesota State University, Mankato is pleased to announce a partnership with Metro Education Cooperative Service Unit (ECSU) that allows eligible concurrent enrollment teachers to receive a $300 tuition scholarship for each graduate credit taken at Minnesota State Mankato. The University has an array of online courses, graduate certificates, and master's degrees that are designed to meet the needs of concurrent enrollment teachers who wish to complete graduate level courses. Instructors should confirm their eligibility for tuition benefits with the ECSU (http://www.metroecsu.org/ProgramsServices/statewidePartnership/index.html).
Our current group of certificates offered with this program are:
- Communication Studies
- English
- History
- Psychology (broken link)
- Spanish
Following funding confirmation, instructors will apply to campus as a non-degree seeking student.

Upcoming Course Options
Below you'll find course offerings for the Summer 2019 and Fall 2019 academic years. These courses have been approved by the system office for concurrent enrollment instructors.
Metro ECSU will ONLY provide tuition scholarships for online courses. Prior to registering for your course you should check the availability of the course. Online availability varies semester to semester. The "Discipline Eligibility" column indicates what discipline the course qualifies an instructor to teach. In most cases the discipline matches the discipline eligibility. There are a few courses that are more pedagogy focused that would qualify an instructor to teach an Education course.
It is also recommended to review courses with the institution you are currently teaching concurrent enrollment through prior to registering. Please contact the Concurrent Enrollment Director of your partnering institution(s) if you have further questions.
You can also search for courses on E-Services. For students who have a StarID and password you can login to www.mnsu.edu/eservices.
Students that have not yet been admitted, or created a StarID, can visit our public search page here: https://eservices.minnstate.edu/registration/search/basic.html?campusid=071.
