Faculty Profile: Dr Paul Hustoles
A college instructor for over thirty-five years, he has taught in Missouri, Texas, Mississippi and Michigan. He has directed 199 plays and musicals (the last was The Mandrake) and has produced over 500 productions. He is very active in and a past Chair of Region V of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, which includes Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. He served on the KCACTF National Committee, the National Selection Team and he directed the prestigious Irene Ryan Evening of Scenes at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. four times.
. Dr. Hustoles served as the Acting Vice President for University Advancement for MSU for 15 months and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Inter Faculty Organization for the Faculty Association, representing his fellow faculty at MSU. He has been heavily involved in Leadership Mankato Area and served on the Executive Committee and Board of the Greater Mankato Area United Way. He is married to Mary Jo, has two grown children and two growing grandchildren.
In 2011, Dr Hustoles directed THE ODYSSEY, one of 4 out of 1,300 collegiate productions selected to be performed at the Kennedy Center for Festival 43. In 2012, he served as the Head National Judge for the Irene Ryan Classical Acting Award. In 2012, he was proclaimed one of the University's Distinguished Faculty Scholars
