John Lindberg

Dr. John E. Lindberg is currently serving as chair of the Music Department of Minnesota State University, Mankato. He also teaches applied bassoon, music history, and music theory, and performs with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, the MSU Faculty Woodwind Quintet, and the faculty baroque ensemble, A musicall Banquet. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Ph. D. from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. He has studied at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe Universiaet (Frankfurt-am-Main) and Friedrich-Alexander-Universiaet (Erlangen/Nuernberg) on Fulbright scholarships. His bassoon teachers include Jack Kitts, Barbara Wood, Otto Eifert, and John Miller. Dr. Lindberg is in demand in southern Minnesota as a bassoonist. He was a featured soloist in the Mankato Symphony Orchestra 2001-2002 concert series. He has published several editions of eighteenth-century music.
