What are your main instruments? Guitar and voice.

What's your Music Industry career ambition? Artist management and music recording.

What has surprised you the most, here? How much I was able to learn about myself, with the help of my professors. It truly has been a great experience so far.

What musical super-power would you like to possess? To master any musical instrument and any technology associated with those instruments.

 

Eliseo is now employed (Spring 2014) by Scooter Braun Projects in L.A. –a nationally recognized pop music management company. He was hired directly out of his internship there, where he competed with many other big-name-school interns.


Gena Johnson

Gena Johnson

What is your main instrument?  Voice.

What's your Music Industry career ambition?  I will complete the Audio Production Specialist degree. I believe that hardware and software is a tool to assist artistry, not an end in itself. I want to produce music that moves people.

What has surprised you the most, here?  The department is like a family.  Everyone is interested in your success. At the same time, there is constructive competition which pushes you to the next level.

What musical super-power would you like to possess?  To write the perfect lyric in 15 minutes.

 

Gena had a dual internship: one for Minnesota State, Mankato, wherein she designed and created a $65,000 professional recording studio at KMSU, and another internship as an assistant sound engineer in Nashville. She is now a very, very busy assistant engineer in that town.


Dan Anderson

Dan Anderson

What is your main instrument? I sing. And I challenge myself to learn a new instrument every year or so.

What's your Music Industry career ambition? To become a successful producer/creative director for artists.

What has surprised you the most, here? Learning how little I knew about the music industry when I started.

What musical super-power would you like to possess? I would love to be able to sing four part harmony all at once – a barber shop quartet wherever I go. A one-man-band.


Sammi Johnson

What is your main instrument? Voice and piano...both. And I dabble a lot.

What's your Music Industry career ambition? Concert production and promotion. I love being able to put all the small details together.

What has surprised you the most, here? It's really easy to make friends and get involved. And the faculty are willing to help students in any way they can.

What musical super-power would you like to possess? I just wish I could whistle...

 

Sammi completed her internship at Poisson Rouge, a nationally recognized music venue in NYC, featuring unique contemporary classical and fusion music. She is now a Marketing Associate and Events Planner for JIA, a financial services company in Iowa.

What is your main instrument? Voice

What's your Music Industry career ambition?  To be a music supervisor for major motion pictures, TV, or advertising.

What has surprised you most, here?  The number of opportunities available to work hands-on with real industry clients.  And you can work on your own personal goals - create your own legacy.

What musical super-power would you like to possess?  The power to take any track and reshape it until it is a hit song.


Chelsea Phillips

What is your main instrument? Voice (alto).

What's your Music Industry career ambition? Anything that combines music and marketing.

What has surprised you the most, here? The way the Music Industry program can be tailored to different student skill sets.

What musical super-power would you like to possess? The power to make all of life into one big, choreographed musical.


Andy Kunz

Andy Kunz

What is your main instrument?   Guitar.

What's your Music Industry career ambition? Music supervision, and to create my own company.

What has surprised you the most, here?  The amount of opportunity I have been given in a very short time.

What musical super-power would you like to possess? Being able to play my guitar so fast that it gives me the ability to time travel.

 

Andy is now employed by Caesar's Corporation as social media manager for two major casinos, one of which includes the largest music venue in Omaha. He enjoyed a prestigious internship at Cyber PR, America's leading PR company for pop music, where he was soon promoted to lead intern, out-competing nine other big-name-school interns.
