We use special software that assigns an individual barcode to each address in a mail file. We are able to save departments thousands of dollars by automating their mailings through address bar coding. In fiscal year 2000, we saved over $15,000 in postage costs and our records indicate that we have saved even more postage money in 2001 due to our bar coding effort.
