Children's Theatre Tour

Each spring semester, the MSU Department of Theatre & Dance sends a tour out to area elementary schools that is made up of first-year students. Performances are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons, in accordance with our students' academic schedules. As a "reward," cast members are taken to New York City over spring break, with flight and hotel accomodations paid for.

Past productions have included Brave Little Tailor, Nightingale, The Ugly Duckling, Face 2 Face, Sir George and the Reluctant Dragon, James and the Giant Peach and many others. These shows are also student designed and directed, giving MSU Theatre & Dance students the full experience of "bus and truck" touring.

Auditions for the Children's Theatre Tour are held within a few weeks of the start of classes in the fall. Tour stops are scheduled and conducted from the beginning of spring semester in mid-January until spring break, for a total of eight weeks.
