Participation Steps

Required for participation in the Symposium:
- One semester prior to the Symposium, find a faculty mentor and develop a research topic or creative project.
- Submit your abstract.
- Prepare for your presentation by attending the Symposium Workshop.
Optional:
- Do you want funding for your research project? If yes, see Funding Opportunities. Pay close attention to submission deadlines and guidelines. If a grant is awarded, you will work with faculty mentor and department secretary to purchase supplies and/or receive yourstipend payment. Grants are awarded in the Fall and Summer.
- Librarians can help you find resources. You can make an appointment for a one-on-one research consultation via the Ask a Librarian page.
- If your project involves humans or animals, you will need to request IRB or IACUC approval.
