URC Supports Scholarly Work Through Funding Opportunities
There are two major types of funding sources. These awards are competitive and are based on specific criteria. Students are considered for both grants when they submit their application. The URC supports students directly with two grant cycles: fall and spring. Students awarded funds are required to present their work at the Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) in April at MNSU.
1. Minnesota State Foundation Student Research Awards:
These awards are funded by the MSU Foundation. Recipients are encouraged to report back to the Foundation Board.
2. Undergraduate Research Center Awards:
These awards are funded by the URC in fall and spring semesters and include supply money for consumable items and materials not already available at the University.

for any other questions.
Please note: you will need to arrange and purchase your own travel up front for your trip, and if awarded a URC Travel Grant, funds will be reimbursed. You will need to submit your application at least 30 days prior to your attendance of the conference. Any applications without all required information will not be considered.
