Feb. 18: Screening of Documentary Film ‘The Weight of the Crown’ on Minnesota State Mankato Alumnus Arik Matson

Mankato, Minn. – A free public screening of the documentary film “The Weight of the Crown,” which tells the story of Arik Matson, who was shot in the head in 2020 while serving on duty as a Waseca, Minnesota, police officer, will be shown Sunday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. at Minnesota State University, Mankato in Ostrander Auditorium (located in Centennial Student Union).

A meet and greet with Matson, a Minnesota State Mankato alumnus, will be held at 3 p.m. prior to the film screening. A trailer for the 65-minute documentary is available on YouTube.

Free-will donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to the Hometown Hero Outdoors organization.
