Feb. 25: Winter 2024 Choral Concert Features Minnesota State Mankato Groups

MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State University, Mankato's choral groups will perform in concert Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 South Broad Street in Mankato.

This performance will feature the concert choir and chamber singers, directed by Elisabeth Cherland. Accompanying the groups will be pianist Ben Marti.

The concert explores nature of the earth with selected pieces including Waldemar Åhlén’s “The Earth Adorned,” and A.R. Rahman’s “Barso Re.” Cherland and her students are excited to present this concert. DJ Ebsersold, a member of the concert choir, stated: “...the pieces we do are calming and melodic, while others are upbeat and lively. Every piece is unique, and I feel like our upcoming concert is going to go really well!”

Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. General admission is $9 and $7 for students (K-12) and all children. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events or call the Performance Series office, (507) 389-5549.
