Feb. 26: Jazz Mavericks, Jazz Combo to Perform in Concert at Minnesota State Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State University, Mankato's Jazz Mavericks will perform on Monday, Feb 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

Douglas Snapp directs the Jazz Mavericks, a large contemporary ensemble that has expanded from a jazz big band to include multiple instruments and vocalists. The Jazz Mavericks performs a broad range of jazz related repertoire including jazz, rock, funk, Latin and hip-hop. The Jazz Mavericks have been featured at the annual Minnesota State Mankato JazzFest, and at jazz festivals in New Orleans, Louisiana; Elmhurst, Illinois; and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Ben Jasinski, a member of the Jazz Mavericks, shares his excitement for the concert. “It’s such a great community within the ensemble, you can really tell in our performances how much everyone loves playing these pieces and I am excited for the audience to hear it!”

Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. General admission is $9 and $7 for students (K-12) and children. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events or call the Performance Series office, (507) 389-5549.
