Feb. 27: Minnesota State Mankato Contemporary Vocal Groups in Concert

MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State University, Mankato's contemporary vocal groups will perform on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The Maverick Fusion and Vocal Precision a cappella vocal groups are co-directed by Douglas Snapp and Stephanie Thorpe.

The concert is said to feel “lovey, dovey” by director Thorpe, who further elaborated: “The concert features really good pop tunes from yesterday and today. It’s going to be a good time!”

The concert opens with the Maverick Fusion singing a mix of older and newer contemporary works including Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries,” and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” The Maverick Vocal Precision group will also be performing familiar tunes such as Tears for Fears’ classic, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.”

Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. General admission is $9 and $7 for students (K-12) and children. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events or call Dale Haefner in the Performance Series office, (507) 389-5549.
