MInnesota State University, Mankato Department of Performing Arts News Release

MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the 2023-2024 Theatre Season with “Seminar” in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for the Performing Arts.

The director of this production and second-year MFA directing candidate, Casey Ring, notes that this show allows the audience to reflect on the various teachers they’ve encountered throughout their lives and the impact these individuals made on them. The teacher in this production is particularly brutal, and his students both suffer and thrive as a result of his teaching methods.

The scenery in this production is exciting as the design is a collaboration between faculty member John David Paul and undergraduate student Tyler Horn. It also features original paintings from art major Tabitha Bergstrom which helps the audience settle into the scenery in “Kate’s Upscale New York City Apartment.”

“Seminar” runs Jan. 31-Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato. Tickets are $10 regular, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older and children under 16; and $5 for Minnesota State Mankato students.

The box office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at MSUTheatre.com or over the phone at 507-389-6661.
