Nov. 20: Can Jam Event to Encourage Food Donations

a yellow and black posterMANKATO, Minn. – Inspired by National Hunger Awareness week (Nov. 16-24), students in Dale Haefner’s music management and concert production class at Minnesota State University, Mankato are sponsoring a food donation drive at Pub 500 (located at 500 South Front St., Mankato).

The Can Jam event will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food items will support the Echo Food Shelf. Those donating food items will receive raffle tickets which will be drawn throughout the evening for free prizes. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by the Department of Music’s contemporary combos.

Those donating non-perishable food items will receive one raffle ticket per food item. Raffle drawings will take place throughout the night and raffle winners must be present to win. A grand prize drawing will be held at 10 p.m.

The Can Jam event is free and open to the public, and all ages are encouraged to attend. Attendees are urged, but not required, to donate food items in support of National Hunger Awareness week.
