MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Music & Entertainment Industries presents a number of student ensemble concerts as the University approaches the end of the spring semester. 

Instrumental Jazz and Contemporary Vocal Groups April 23 

The Jazz Mavericks and Contemporary Singers will perform Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m. The concert takes place in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue. Douglas Snapp directs the instrumental jazz bands. The Maverick Fusion and Vocal Precision a cappella vocal groups are co-directed by Douglas Snapp and Stephanie Thorpe. The program will include big band arrangements and popular a cappella versions of popular songs. 

Spring Choral April 24 

The Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform their annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. The choirs are directed by Aaron Humble. The concert takes place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 South Broad Street in Mankato. The title of the concert is “I Will Tread Lightly. . .” with the groups performing an assortment of repertoire featuring a musical mix from Renaissance to contemporary. 

Concert Wind Ensemble April 28 

The Concert Wind Ensemble will perform Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue. The ensemble is directed by Amy K. Roisum Foley.

Select the ‘Upcoming Performances’ link, then select ‘View Events and Purchase Tickets.’ Concert admission is $9 for general admission and $7 for K-12 students and children.
