Why I want to be a Maverick Firsts Advocate

Navigating college can be difficult; especially for first generation college students. I missed many great opportunities because I did not ask for help and when I attended Minnesota State Mankato, we did not have this program. I wish I would have known about all of the great activities and programs available on campus or know how to find resources regarding them.

I am also passionate about the environment, sustainability and our natural world. I was president of the Recognized Student Organization (RSO), Students for Sustainability while a senior at Minnesota State Mankato. Being involved in RSOs are a great way to get involved on campus!

The area in which I work also houses the Alumni Relations department. I recommend connecting with them while a student to see what it means to be an alumni and a proud #MavGrad!
