Carah Koch
'96 b.s. Political science

Carah Koch graduated from MNSU in 1996 with a degree in Political Science.  After beginning her career in county government, she went on to earn a graduate degree in Public and Non-Profit Administration from Metro State University.

Carah's career includes over 25 years in the public sector at the local, regional, and federal levels, and in both professional and elected roles.  In her current role at the US Department of Commerce, Carah is serving at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration Federal Program Officer for Wisconsin.  In this position Carah works closely with federal and state entities (as well as community, industry, and non-profit stakeholders) across Wisconsin to implement the build out of high-speed internet services to unserved and underserved communities.

Carah is passionate about public service and is currently serving her second term on the County Board in her community.  In addition to this work, she serves as a board member for a local organization which collaborated with the city to build and maintain a dog park, is a board member for her local economic development organization, and is a Rotarian.

Carah looks forward to serving on the Alumni Board and connecting with the MNSU community once again as the University has had a significant impact on her life beyond her education.  She met her husband (who is also a MNSU alum) while a student, and one of their daughters is also a MNSU graduate.
