Transfer Student Orientation

Welcome future Mavericks!

Admitted Students

Our virtual Transfer Student Orientation will guide you through everything you need to know, from class registration to finding your place on campus. Plus, you’ll meet advisors and fellow transfer students.  

What to Expect at Virtual Orientation

  • Complete self-paced modules
  • Join live Zoom sessions for advising and course registration
  • Attend a Virtual Connection Lab to meet other students and ask questions

Details for your virtual orientation session will be shared via the email you used to apply to the University.  

Virtual Orientation Dates 

  • Virtual Orientation options for Spring 2027 will take place November and December 2026 and early January 2027.
    • Registration opens October 2026.
  • Orientation options for Fall 2027 will take place late Spring and Summer 2027.
    • Registration opens February 2027.

What to Expect:

Meet Your Advisor:

After your orientation session, you will schedule an additional meeting with your advisor to complete registration, discuss your academic plan and finalize your class schedule.

Campus Life:

Learn about resources available to transfer students which will include access to online modules for the entirety of your first year at MSU.

Stay Connected:

You can sign up for an optional Virtual Connections Lab, where you can meet with current students who will answer questions and connect you with other transfer students.
