  3. Submit Academic Records

Send official records from all schools you attended, including:

    • High school (secondary)
    • Colleges or universities (post-secondary)

    • U.S. records: Must be official transcripts sent by the high school.

    Transfer Students (Without U.S. Credits)

    • You must still submit your academic records for admission.
    • If you do not plan to transfer credits from outside the U.S., you do not need to have your records reviewed by an outside agency.
If you do want to transfer credits, visit the International Transfer Student page for more information.

    Transfer Students (With U.S. Credits)

    • U.S. college transcripts must be official and sent directly from each college or university. See how to submit transcripts.
    • Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted.

  4. Optional SAT or ACT Scores

Minnesota State Mankato is test-optional for admission.

    • You do not need to submit SAT or ACT scores to be admitted.
    • Admission decisions will be based on your high school transcripts and GPA if no test scores are provided.
    • If you do submit SAT or ACT scores, they will be considered in the admission process.
    • Missing test scores will not be required before you attend.

Why Submit Test Scores (If Optional)?

Submitting SAT or ACT scores can help you:

    • Get placed into math and English courses faster
    • Avoid extra placement testing

If you don’t submit scores or previous college-level coursework, you may need to take the Accuplacer exam.
Minnesota State Mankato uses the Advanced Algebra and Functions and/or ESL Reading with ESL Writeplacer tests. For more information see the International Student Course Placement.
