1:00PM Maverick Soccer vs University of Sioux Falls

Soccer Pitch, behind lot 1

Come and enjoy a soccer match as the Mavericks take on the Cougars. Current MSU students get in free with their MavCard along with Family Weekend participants.

5:00PM – 11:30PM FREE Cosmic Bowling and Billiards

Maverick Bullpen, lower level of the Centennial Student Union

You can sign up for one hour blocks of game time starting 15 minutes before each hour. For example, at 4:45pm you can sign up to play from 5-6pm. To allow for everyone a chance to enjoy the games, you cannot sign up for consecutive game times.

5:00PM Stomper’s Cinema - Despicable Me 3

Ostrander Auditorium, Centennial Student Union

The mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.

Otto Recreation Center

Head for a great workout, play some basketball, or do many other activities in our campus recreation center. Just sign in at the desk and enjoy your time at the Rec Center! Free access for our Family Weekend Guests. Open Gym, Walking/Jogging Track, Weight Room, Cardio Area and Racquetball Courts. No minors in Weight Room or Cardio Area.

The Mahkato Mdewakanton Association is a gathering of nations to celebrate and honor the Dakota traditions and ancestors; to reconcile and build bridges between all nations through education, storytelling, and share Dakota Indian culture.

The Danger Committee is an incredible combination of juggling, knife throwing, spine tingling thrills and hilarious comedy. They have performed on national television and at theaters, festivals and corporate events across the country. Their unique blend of the hilarious and the dangerous while performing unbelievable feats of skill has made The Danger Committee one of the most talked about new acts in the country. They have taken on national notoriety on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and have since had multiple appearances on national television and stages from New York to Las Vegas.

8:00PM – 10:00PM Star Gazing 

Andreas Observatory

See the universe like you've never seen it before - and learn something new about the expanses of space! Park your vehicle on the south end of Lot 1 (behind the old Gage Towers). You can reach the observatory by a short walk south on the gravel road from lot 1. Weather permitting; check the Family Weekend Schedule online for cancellation updates.

9:45AM Family Weekend Stomper Sprint

Fitness Trail: near the MSU softball fields and Lot 1

Calling all kids to join Stomper for a kids fun run on our outdoor track! 100 meter fun run for kids ages 4 and under and a 400 meter (1 lap) fun run for kids ages 5 and up. No preregistration. Meet at the entrance to the track (right next to the start of the 5K) by 9:40am. A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian the morning of the event in order for the child to participate.

10:00AM Family Weekend 5k Fun Run/Walk

Fitness Trail: near the MSU softball fields and Lot 1

Join us for a FREE non-competitive 5k fun run/walk on our paved fitness trail by the softball fields and Green Parking Lot 1. T-shirts are provided to the first 200 participants who check in at the 5k registration table on the day of the event starting at 9:15am. A separate pre-registration is required for this event. Day of registrations are accepted starting at 9:30am. A waiver must be signed by all participants the morning of the event in order to participate.

10:00AM – 12:00PM Historic Valley Campus Walking Tour

Blue Earth County History Center, 424 Warren Street in Downtown Mankato

Find your clogs, saddle shoes, or sneakers for this nostalgic walking tour of lower campus. This walking tour brings visitors past many of the buildings you loved, or hated to visit while a student at Mankato State Teacher's College, Mankato State College or Mankato State University. After the tour, visit the History Center to see our new exhibit Celebrating MSU 150 Years. Admission Prices: Adults-$8.00, Children (Ages 5-17)-$5.00, BECHS Members-$5.00

Enjoy games, caricatures, photo booth, indoor rock wall climbing, inflatables and other great fun for the entire family, brought to you in part by the Residence Hall Association (RHA).

10:30AM Alumni Legacy Brunch

The Office of Alumni Relations presents a brunch for students who have family members who are Alumni of Minnesota State University, Mankato. Invitations will be sent via email to Legacy Families. Lot 1

Come play a round on MNSU's newest recreational option, the 9 hole Maverick Disc Golf course! Our very own par 3 disc golf course is open for you to play year-round, dawn till dusk. Meet the Campus Recreation staff at the northwest corner of lot 1 (right field fence of the Women's Softball diamond) to grab a scorecard, map and check out a disc to use. Feel free to bring your own disc golf discs too.

4:00PM-7:00PM Outdoor Rock Climbing

Outdoor Rock Climbing Wall

Come and enjoy our Outdoor Rock Climbing Wall! The feel and texture of this climbing wall is amazingly realistic, allowing climbers to use natural features and attached handholds to climb unique routes up the wall. Take on the challenge of climbing this 35 foot pinnacle! Park in Lot 1 and take a short walk down the gravel road.

Three shows! 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm. Free tickets are required from mnsuevents.com.

Please arrive 30 minutes early to the show. Limit 350 people per show.

Over $2000.00 in prizes. Here’s your chance to “come on down” to “The Price is Right.” Back by popular demand, the Student Events Team of Minnesota State University, Mankato will be hosting the “The Price is Right” game show. This live version of the TV show will give students and families a chance to win prizes such as groceries to Hy-Vee, kitchen appliances, free bowling at Wow Zone for a Semester, and much more!
