Your performance in each course will be graded using a letter system, which will be recorded on your permanent academic record. Learn more about the grading system, understand your transcript, and learn how your GPA is calculated.

Check Your Grades in E-Services
E-Services is the go-to platform for viewing your grades.
- To view grades from a previous semester, simply select the desired term from the dropdown menu and click "Get Grades."
- Instructors begin posting grades up to one week before the official end of the course.
Grading Definitions
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students will be evaluated under the following letter grading system (includes +/-)
A = Superior
B = Above average
C = Average
D = Below Average
F = Failure
P/NC = Pass/ No-Credit
W = Withdrawal
AU= Audit Grades
I = Incomplete
IP= In-Progress Grade
Z = Placeholder for no grade has been entered yet
Graduate Students
Graduate students will be evaluated under the following letter grading system (includes +/-)
A = Superior quality
B = Above average
C = Below average
D = Unacceptable performance
F = Unacceptable performance
P/NC = Pass/ No-Credit
W = Withdrawal
AU= Audit Grades
I = Incomplete
IP= In-Progress Grade

Dean's List
Undergraduate students who complete 12 or more graded credits and earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher are honored on the Academic Honors List—commonly known as the Dean's List. This recognition also appears on your official transcript.

Academic Forgiveness
Academic Forgiveness offers undergraduate students a one-time chance to reset their GPA. Students should meet with their advisor or college advising center to see if they qualify and meet the conditions.
Incomplete Grade
Students who are unable to complete a key course requirement—but have otherwise maintained passing work—may request an incomplete grade by initiating an Incomplete Contract. Approval and assignment of an incomplete grade are at the instructor's discretion.

Grade Appeals
Have questions about a grade? You have the right to ask your instructor for an explanation—and if you believe a final grade is unfair or arbitrary, there's a formal process to request a review.

Official Transcript
Official transcripts are a certified record of your academic work at Minnesota State University, Mankato. They include your courses, grades, credit hours, and any degrees you’ve earned.

Enrollment and Degree Verification
External organizations and employers may request verification that you are or were a student at Minnesota State Mankato, including enrollment status (full-time, half-time) or degree completion at Minnesota State Mankato.
For students, you may request through the National Student Clearing House Self-Service website.
